Loved this trip!

I had such a great day! Seeing the Great Pyramid and the Great Sphinx in person was amazing. Our tour guide told us so many interesting stories about Khufu and Khafre. Riding a camel on the plateau was a very fun and unique experience. If you’re thinking about it, definitely go for it! I feel like I saw a lot in one day. Next time, I want to check out Khan el Khalili as well. If you’re looking for an easy way to visit the pyramids from Hurghada, this is it!

DISCOVER CAIRO AND GIZA

Your day trip from Hurghada to the Pyramids begins with pickup from your hotel in Hurghada. You will be picked up in a comfortable air-conditioned minivan or bus. At the plateau, you will visit the Great Pyramid, built around 2560 BC for Pharaoh Khufu. It was originally 481 feet (147 meters) tall and built from 2 million limestone blocks. You will also see Khafre’s pyramid, which still has some of its original casing stones. Close by is Menkaure’s smaller pyramid, built for Khufu’s grandson. Another sight you’ll see is the Great Sphinx, carved from a single limestone ridge. It represents Pharaoh Khafre and guards the plateau. • Pharaohs were seen as gods, and their pyramids held food, clothes, and treasures. These items were meant to help their souls in the afterlife and connect them to the gods.
